A woman badly wants a child. A fairy gives her a bulb and tells her to plant and water it. When the plant grew it was a tiny girl no bigger than your thumb-Thumbelina. One night a frog spots Thumbelina and carries her away. Thumbelina escapes the frog and goes from one animal to another. Finally, she meets a tiny man and they marry.
