In a crummy brothel in the city of La Vega, we are introduced tostories and frustrations of several characters defeated by their existence: apoet who has never published a verse; a revolutionary who always arrived latein history; and Changsan, the owner, a Chinese man who is always followed byhis faithful wife and a parade of sensual, sharp and sarcastic women ofquestionable reputations.
